ABOUT

Basketball Skills Training Program

Overview
The basketball skills training program will span over three months, with up to three training skill packs offered per month. Each training skill pack includes a video of a college game action that showcases up to six different skills. The player will have a account on the Illinois Hornets website where they can watch the video to understand the skills involved and then follow a prescribed training format to simulate the game action. The training program incorporates a new method called courtology to track the time spent on each skill in a real game scenario. Players are provided with time goals for each skill and an overall time goal for completing all the skills from the live game.

The training program will incorporate a shot skill pack that highlights Shooting Mechanics. It will use real game videos of shots for instructional purposes. Participants will study the footage to comprehend the shooting techniques and then replicate the game scenarios during training sessions. The shot skill pack will specifically focus on catch-and-shoot, one-dribble pull-up, 10-footers, 15-footers, baseline shots, elbow shots, and wing shots based on real in-game situations.

The basketball skills training program aims to equip players with the necessary skills to excel at the college level while helping them develop a strong skill set for on-court performance. This training will enable players to showcase their abilities effectively through a player profile, empowering them to connect with college coaches and pursue opportunities to further their basketball career.
